In 1995 Coy moved to Manhattan for continued growth as an aspiring young director. In New York, Coy has been able to channel his talent, energy and skills into a greater arena. Coy has directed main stage productions, readings and developed new work for theater companies such as: The Actors Studio, The Adobe Theatre Company, Ensemble Studio Theater, Epic Repertory Theatre, The John Harms Theater, Musical Theater Works, The Neighborhood Playhouse, LOBO Theater, and The Stamford Center for the Arts.
Coy graduated from The Actors Studio Drama School at New School University with a MFA in Directing in 2000. His directing credits there include three original works by graduate playwrights and a very well received production of THE ELEPHANT MAN.
In 2002 Coy co-founded LOBO Theatre Corporation. He directed their inaugural production of ORPHANS at Urban Stages and LOBO’s production of the New York premiere of Tennessee Williams’ SPRING STORM in May 2004 at the Theatre at St Clements.
Coy has also had the honor of working with Jeff Calhoun and Tina Landau in many major productions in New York. Coy is the Associate Director, alongside Mr. Calhoun, for the highly acclaimed production of BIG RIVER at Deaf West Theater (DWT), which was remounted in Los Angeles, at the Mark Taper Forum, on Broadway at the American Airlines Theater with The Roundabout Theatre Company and the 2004/5 International Tour. Coy directed the DWT production of BIG RIVER at The Ford’s Theatre in Washington DC this spring. He is also the Associate Director for the Broadway musical, BROOKLYN, of which Mr. Calhoun is also Director. Coy was the assistant director for the Broadway revival of BELLS ARE RINGING and the Disney Theatrical Productions’ workshop of WHEN YOU WISH, both directed by Ms. Landau and starring Faith Prince.
During Coy's residence in New York, he also worked as an actor. In 1996, he played the principal role of Eugene Florzych in the National Tour of GREASE!, and in October of 1997, made his Broadway debut, also with GREASE!, at the Eugene O’Neill Theater. Coy also appeared opposite Al Pacino and Marisa Tomei in the workshop production of SALOME at the Actors Studio.
Coy is a member of The Lincoln Center Directors Lab, LOBO Theatre and Epic Repertory Theatre Company. He is a member of The Actors Studio where he serves on the development committee and where his directing credits include RACE MUSIC and WOODEN NICKELS.
Book writer and lyricist Parker Moody Jackson is a playwright, producer and journalist who writes for several national and international publications, and whose past theatre credits include, FEAR OF ATOMIC EXPLOSIONS at Sacred Fools Theatre, the world premiere of Sam Shepard’s True Dylan, the critically-acclaimed The Shvitz (in Detroit), and the hip-hop Greek farce Luna at The MET Theatre in Hollywood, where she first collaborated with her partner and composer, Flipper Dalton.
Gerald Sternbach (Musical Dircector) is proud to have been handed the baton from the late great Peter Matz becoming the musical director for his second season at Reprise! Best of Broadway in Concert Series (Los Angeles’ version of New York’s Encore Series), having just been at the helm for KISMET (starring Len Cariou), BABES IN ARMS (with Joey McIntyre), SHE LOVES ME (starring Rebecca Luker), ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY (starring Carolee Carmello, Bob Gunton and Mimi Hines) ANYTHING GOES (with Rachel York, Brent Barrett and Jason Graae) -- the previous three netting him a near sweep of three out of five LA Ovation nominations for musical direction -- and FOLLIES (starring Patty Duke, Vicki Carr, Harry Groener and Donna McKechnie). He has also contributed music to the new musicals HEARTBEATS (in collaboration with Amanda McBroom and Bill Castellino, the long running THE GAY 90’S--LOOKING BACK AND MOVING ON (both on Varese/Sarabande), HAPPY HOLIDAYS and the riotous VAMPIRE VIRGINS FROM VENUS (written with Gary MacAuley and directed by David Gallligan).
Much sought after music producer and composer Flipper Dalton has worked with such prominent pop artists as Madonna, P. Diddy, Alanis Morrisette, Prodigy, Sasha and John Digweed. He has also played concert piano at Royal Albert Hall in London, toured the world extensively with such acts as Fat Boy Slim, Moby, Carl Cox, and Brian Transeau, and composes music for film and television, most recently completing his first feature film, Citizen’s Arrest, directed by Beeaje Quick, and the Sundance-bound short Premiere, starring Brandon Williams and Amy Smart. Other significant credits include work on the Matrix movies, as well as the popular TV series, Nip/Tuck.
Michael Donovan, C.S.A. (Casting Director) has cast 40 films, 9 TV series, over 1,000 commercials, and numerous critically-acclaimed productions for the theatre. He is proud to have cast a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle winner for Best Production, Raisin, at I.C.T. in Long Beach. A double Artios nominee (C.S.A.'s award for Outstanding Casting), Michael's credits include Snoopy and Johnny Boy at the Falcon Theatre, Dinah Was and My Boy Jack at I.C.T., Grand Hotel, The Musical at The Colony, Twelfth Night for Shakespeare Festival/L.A., Summertime at the Theatre @ Boston Court in Pasadena, and Beauty and the Beast for the California Theatre of the Performing Arts in San Bernadino. Other productions include Light at Boston Court, The Sleeper at Arkansas Repertory, Bark at the Coast Playhouse, and a touring production of Aida.
Shane Guffogg (Set Design & Painting) worked for several years building sets for the major motion picture studios, after graduating from the California Institute for the Arts. In 1990, his painting career took off, and since then his art work has been shown in galleries in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and La Jolla, as well as collected by museums, corporations and collectors internationally. He is the founder/owner of the Pharmaka Art Gallery in Los Angeles, and has designed sets for several stage productions in LA.
Michael Gilliam (Lighting Designer) works everywhere, all the time. Broadway credits include Brooklyn, Big River, and Stand-Up Tragedy. He also designed the West End production of Gershwin Alone, the Off-Broadway productions of Blue, End of the World Party, Zooman and the Sign, Menopause The Musical, the national tours of Guys and Dolls and Big River, and has worked regionally at such theaters as Arena Stage, the Globe Theatres, Mark Taper Forum, Seattle Repertory, the Goodman Theatre, the Guthrie Theater, the Pasadena Playhouse, the Geffen Playhouse, the Kennedy Center, Ford’s Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company, The Prince Music Theater, Denver Center, and Arizona Theatre Company.
Beth Morgan (Costume Designer) has designed or assisted on numerous productions in Los Angeles, including Merchant of Venice at the MET Theatre, Madness of Esme of Shaz at Celebration Theatre, and Bicostal Woman at Pasadena Playhouse, where she has also worked as the Wardrobe Supervisor for a number of years. She has also designed several films, as well as assisting Katherine Jane Byant for two seasons on the Emmy nominated Deadwood.
William Coiner (Production Stage Manager) has been stage managing Broadway musicals for the past 15 years including the Tony and Emmy award winning Blast! on Broadway and the national tours of Rent, Sunset Blvd., Angels in America, Tommy, Big River, Guys and Dolls, Grease! and Annie Get Your Gun. Prior to that he was the Production Stage Manager at Houston Grand Opera for many years where he worked on world premier operas by Philip Glass, John Adams, Meredith Monk, Michael Tippett and Carlisle Floyd and worked with such directors as Harold Prince, Robert Wilson, Nicholas Hytner, Sir Peter Hall and Jean-Pierre Ponnelle.. He has worked at many opera and theatrical companies in North America and Europe including the Los Angeles Music Opera Association located at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Most recently he was in Hong Kong working for Disney Creative Entertainment opening their latest theme park.
Zack Morgen (Assistant Producer/Assistant Stage Manager) Regional Credits include: Joseph…, Annie, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Forever Plaid, and about 20 other classic musicals. He has stage managed and produced a variety of productions in the New York Area and is a current B.F.A. Stage Management student at the University of Southern California. Zack is also a member of the Stage Managers Association
Kevin Allen Jackson (Producer) is a co-founder of Out of the Park Entertainment. Kevin is a former development executive and screenwriting instructor at the acclaimed Writers Boot Camp in Santa Monica. He holds an MFA in directing from the Actors Studio Drama School, and is a graduate of the Think Tank program at Writers Boot Camp, where he is also a lifetime member. He has written several feature scripts for independent producers, including a project he is currently developing for The Lost Tribe. While in New York, he founded three separate theatrical production companies, worked with such acclaimed theatrical organizations as Circle Rep, New Dramatists, The Vineyard, Playwrights Horizons and Musical Theatre Works, and wrote, directed and produced several of his own film projects. Kevin also served as the Head of Production at the MET Theatre in Hollywood for two years.
Adam Jaret (Producer) is a co-founder of Out of the Park Entertainment. He is also a former development executive and special events coordinator at Writers Boot Camp. While there, he put together the deal aligning WBC with Project Greenlight, among many others. He coordinated and supervised both the script evaluation of their top 1000 submissions, as well as the ultimate selection of the top 100 scripts. The winner, Feast, currently in production, was one of the scripts most highly recommended by WBC. He also supervised brainstorming sessions with industry professionals at WBC's "Exquisite Story" events, which he coordinated, as well, in addition to organizing industry panel events at Sundance and in LA. Adam holds a BA in Theatre Production and Film from the University of Delaware. He also attended NYU/Tisch, and studied Film and Television at Stonestreet Studios, where he directed and produced a variety of short films and showcases. Adam is a graduate of the Think Tank program at Writers Boot Camp, where he is also lifetime member.
Out of the Park Entertainment is a multi-tiered feature film and live theatrical production company, which also serves as the development arm of Jaret Entertainment (Legally Blonde, Rounders, Ten Things I Hate About You), working specifically with new writers. Additionally, its principals, Kevin Allen Jackson and Adam Jaret, function as development consultants to outside production companies. Past and current clients include East of Doheny and Lobo Productions, for both of which OPE has developed feature-length material.
